Dr Emma Paterson

Dr Emma Paterson (MBBS, FACEM, CCPU) is an emergency physician at both the Royal Melbourne and Royal Women's Hospitals. She studied medicine at Griffiths University and began emergency medicine training at Logan Hospital Queensland. During her advanced training, she completed an US special skills rotation supervised by Dr Scott Sterling. She has completed multiple CCPU units including EFAST, FELS, AAA, biliary and renal.
Emma joined Royal Melbourne Hospital as a senior registrar in 2019. She has been faculty in several RMH run POCUS courses. She is currently clinical lead of EDUS at RMH. Her particular interest is creating an accreditation platform to facilitate POCUS image review, feedback and education.
